Statement

"Morning Stroll Surprise" is an iPhone-based project that started during a school trip to New York in 2015. Originally, it was meant as a creative exercise to break out of an artistic rut and as a way to lose weight during morning walks (though the latter is a whole other issue). Over the years, it has evolved into a significant part of my creative practice, deeply influencing all my other work.
The project's premise is to explore the unnoticed through subtraction, framing, and questioning. Poetic connections emerge from slight shifts in perspective, with hidden arrangements waiting to be captured by the camera’s frame and brought to new life. Disparate forms and objects transform into new contexts and meanings, while framed assortments of circumstances lend significance to the often unremarkable.
